[#DIV28SUPER] Call for Abstracts for NIDA Genetics and Epigenetics Meeting, April 26-27, 2022 Blackburn Center, Howard University, Washington, DC Deadline January 3, 2022

The Genetics and Epigenetics Cross Cutting Research Team (GECCRT) of the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) invites you to submit an abstract for the April 26-27, 2022 GECCRT Meeting to be held at the Blackburn Center at Howard University in Washington, D.C.

The GECCRT will select up to 22 Abstracts for oral presentations and we encourage oral presenters to attend the meeting in person. Oral presentations will be made available through Zoom or another platform. Abstracts not selected for oral presentations may be invited for in-person poster presentations. Abstracts should focus on the genetics and epigenetics of substance abuse in humans or model systems. We encourage submissions across all career stages (e.g. graduate students, postdoctoral scientists, junior, and senior faculty). See examples at: (2021 NIDA Genetics Consortium Meeting Abstracts).

 

Contingency plans are being made to hold the meeting virtually should public health conditions or other unforeseen events prohibit an in-person meeting.

Event:             Grant Writing Workshop                     Mock Study Section

Time:              9:30 AM to 10:50 AM                          9:00 AM to 10:50 AM

Please indicate your interest in participating in the grants writing workshop and/or mock study section by sending an email to jpollock@mail.nih.gov with the header GRANTS WRITING and MOCK STUDY section by January 3, 2022.

The goals of the meeting are to:

  • Showcase the exciting research on the genetics and epigenetics of substance use disorders
  • Encourage collaboration among investigators with different expertise in genetics and epigenetics
  • Foster collaboration between investigators working on the genetics and epigenetics of substance abuse disorders and HIV/AIDS investigators
  • Identify new research opportunities in the genetics and epigenetics of substance use disorders 
  • Provide attendees with an opportunity to meet with NIDA program directors to discuss their ideas for grant applications and funding opportunities 

 

Abstracts are due by Midnight PST on Monday, January 3, 2022. Decisions on acceptance of poster presentations and short talks will be made on a rolling basis.
