[#DIV28SUPER] APA 2022 Convention Updates

Hello fellow substance use researchers!
I want to update everyone about the 2022 APA Convention.
  1. The convention is scheduled for August 4-6, 2022, in Minneapolis, MN.
  2. The convention is in-person, but you can submit a virtual poster.
  3. The symposia and poster abstract submission deadline is Friday, December 17th.
  4. If you plan to submit a symposium, please notify me about your plans as soon as possible as this would greatly help with program building and planning.
  5. When you submit your symposium proposal through the APA online submission system, I strongly encourage you to request a review for CE credit as this will likely significantly increase audience size/attendance at your symposium.
  6. To submit a proposal use this link: https://convention.apa.org/proposals
  7. Some of the types of programs you can submit/propose are:
    • Skill-Building Sessions (I personally really like learning new methods at these)
    • Symposia 2.0 (any big themes that you're particularly excited about?)
    • Critical Conversations (anything unclear/controversial that we need to figure out?)
    • Poster (leads to some of the best conversations with fellow researchers)
    • You can find descriptions of program types here: https://convention.apa.org/proposals/division-programs
I'm hoping that we can put together a program this year that covers a wide range of topics and really gets everyone thinking and excited about all of the great projects everyone is working on!
Please reach out to me if you have any questions:
Best,
Jake
