The mission of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) is to bring effective prevention to every community. CSAP provides national leadership in the development of policies, programs and to prevent the onset of illegal drug use, underage alcohol and tobacco use, and to reduce the negative consequences of using substances.
 
SAMHSA is currently recruiting for the Director of the Center for Substance Abuse Prevention.  This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Substance Abuse Prevention (CSAP). CSAP disseminates effective substance abuse prevention practices and builds the capacity of States, communities and other groups to apply prevention knowledge effectively.
