[#DIV28SUPER] endorsement of Dr. Mary Ann McCabe

Dear Division 28 Colleagues,

I am writing with a personal endorsement for my colleague and friend, Mary Ann McCabe, for APA President-Elect.  I believe that she is the strongest representative for our division's interests and that she is also the most well-rounded candidate. She has a proven record of leadership across science, practice, education, and public policy.  Dr. McCabe is the only candidate who has led collaborations across psychology subfields, other disciplines and professions, organizations and countries. This has included work with Congress, federal and state policymakers, federal funders and private foundations, insurers, business and advocacy groups. She is well prepared to promote APA and the field of psychology effectively and to continue and expand both national and international collaborations as APA President.

Speaking to her broad experience and reputation for collaboration, she has earned organizational endorsements from Divisions 14 (Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, sole), 16 (School Psychology, sole), 37 (Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice, sole), 38 (Society for Health Psychology, sole), 42 (Psychologists in Independent Practice), 44 (Society for the Psychology of Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity, ranked #1), and 54 (Society of Pediatric Psychology, sole) and the following Council of Representatives caucuses: Association of Practicing Psychologists, ranked #1; Child, Adolescent, and Family, sole; Education and Training, sole; Ethnic Minority Issues in Psychology, ranked #2; General Applied Psychology/Psychologists, sole; Health Care and Health Science, sole; Public Interest, sole; and Women's.

I am confident that Mary Ann will advance APA, the discipline and the profession. To review her priorities, statements, CV/flyer, and individual endorsements at www.maryann4apa.com. When APA Presidential Election Ballots arrive in your inbox tomorrow, I ask that you give Dr. McCabe your #1 vote.  If you have another top candidate in mind, please rank Dr. McCabe #2.  Please vote!

Thanks for your consideration,
Bill Stoops.
