[#DIV28SUPER] Postdoctoral Fellowship in Addiction, Neuroimaging- UW-Milwaukee

Dear Colleagues, please distribute:

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) Brain Imaging and Neuropsychology (BraIN Laboratory) invites applications for a NEW postdoctoral position in the Department of Psychology under the mentorship of Krista Lisdahl, Ph.D. The fellowship is for a minimum of one year, renewal being contingent on ongoing fit and funding. The successful applicant will join an NIH-funded laboratory examining risk and resilience factors predicting adolescent onset substance use and impact of repeated substance use on health, psychopathology and neurocognitive outcomes in adolescents enrolled in the prospective, longitudinal Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study (https://abcdstudy.org/). The ABCD Study is a multi-site nationwide study following over 11,000 children for 10 years. It is the largest study to date to examine factors (e.g., sleep, physical activity, stress, trauma, substance use) that influence child and adolescent neurodevelopment. This study will also train the postdoctoral fellow in longitudinal research, retention practices, large-scale lab management techniques, cross-site data harmonization, and multi-site collaboration. The fellow will play an important role in assisting with project management; duties will include RA management and mentoring, community engagement and dissemination of findings locally and nationally, analyzing data, writing manuscripts, assisting with grant preparation, attending ABCD Study workgroup meetings (e.g., Substance Use Assessment, Mobile Technology, Mental Health, Neurocognition workgroups). Opportunities to teach are available, but not required. The BraIN Lab includes a diverse group of students, including undergraduate students, BA/MA level staff, and graduate students (a team of approximately 20).

Interested candidates should send their current CV, a cover letter describing their short and long-term career goals, and arrange to have three letters of reference sent electronically to Krista Lisdahl at medinak@uwm.edu. We are an equal opportunity employer and especially encourage applications from diverse populations.

Requirements:

·                PhD or equivalent degree in neuroscience or psychology

·                Interest in addiction or adolescent neuro or affective development research

Preferred:

·                Experience with MRI processing and data-analysis

·                Experiencing working with R statistical software

·                Longitudinal research/retention experience

Sincerely,

Krista Lisdahl, Ph.D.
