Become an APA Congressional or Executive Branch Fellow!

Ever wondered what it would be like to work in Congress or at a federal agency? Want to expand your public policy knowledge and skills? APA's Congressional and Executive Branch Fellowships prepare psychologists to contribute to the federal policy making process and make a difference on issues impacting our society. Consider applying today!

WHAT TO EXPECT? Fellows spend one year in Washington, DC working with a member of Congress, congressional committee, or a federal agency learning how to draft legislation, gain knowledge about the federal regulatory process, manage grant programs, conduct oversight work, and prepare briefs and speeches. Fellows also attend a two-week orientation program on congressional and executive branch operations and participate in a yearlong seminar series on science and public policy issues. All fellows receive a stipend and reimbursement for health insurance coverage, professional development, and relocation expenses during the fellowship year.

HOW CAN I APPLY? Fellowships are open to all full APA members. Submit your application by January 30, 2023.

Applications are now being accepted. Learn more about each fellowship and apply below!
The Congressional and Executive Branch fellowships are offered in partnership with the American Association for the Advancement of Science.  For questions, please contact Ben Vonachen in APA's Advocacy Office at bvonachen@apa.org.
