[#DIV28SUPER] Call for comments: Scoping process for a clinical practice guideline for treatment of chronic musculoskeletal pain in adults

Public comments invited on scoping process for developing a guideline for treatment of chronic musculoskeletal pain in adults

Deadline for comments is November 6, 2021

The American Psychological Association (APA) seeks comments from all interested individuals and groups – including psychologists, health care professionals, researchers, patients/clients and their families, APA governance members, and the general public – on the Population, Interventions, Comparators, Outcomes, Timing, and Setting (PICOTS) framework that will serve as the blueprint for developing an APA clinical practice guideline for treatment of chronic musculoskeletal pain in adults. APA also seeks feedback on the systematic reviews that will be used as the underlying evidence base for developing treatment recommendations.

The portal for viewing and commenting on the PICOTS framework and systematic reviews opened on October 7, 2021. It will remain open for comments until 11:59 pm (Eastern), Saturday, November 6, 2021.

Comments will provide the panel that is developing the guideline with valuable input as it works to develop recommendations for the treatment of chronic musculoskeletal pain in adults.

Members of the guideline development panel come from the fields of psychology as well as medicine, physical therapy, nursing, and social work, and includes community members who are personally affected by chronic pain.

For additional information, see APA's clinical practice guideline initiative website.
