I'm happy to announce a postdoctoral position available for the 2018-2019 training year, working with me at Linden Oaks and Edward-Elmhurst Health. This position would be based primarily in our IOP/PHP treatment clinic in Naperville, IL but options would exist to gain exposure to levels of care across the addiction spectrum that Linden Oaks provides, including medically-managed detoxification, ASAM Level 1 medication-assisted therapy, and residential care. The postdoctoral fellow would also have the option to work with me on program-development tasks that would impact multiple clinics in Linden Oaks' outpatient network, as well as contribute to and learn about broader system-level initiatives addiction and chemical-dependency initiatives in Edward-Elmhurst Health, such as shaping opioid prescribing policy and education for physicians, improving Emergency Department responsiveness and clinical competence related to patients presenting with concerns related to addiction, among other projects.
The postdoctoral fellow could anticipate that they will complete their year having received a solid foundation for evidence-based practice in the treatment of addiction, as well as strong experience in interacting with, and shaping policy for, larger healthcare systems through collaboration with medical staff, and business administration, and project-specific workgroups.
In addition to training experiences available directly with me, the fellow would participate in the weekly 4-hour didactic seminar and supervision series for psychology trainees, which focuses on evidence-based treatment, current professional issues, and clinical supervision.
