[#DIV28SUPER] Postdoctoral Research Position at Duke University Medical Center
Sent on behalf of Dr. Maggie Sweitzer:
Postdoctoral Research Position, Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC
A two-year postdoctoral research position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Maggie Sweitzer in the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at Duke University School of Medicine. The focus of our research is on examining neurobehavioral mechanisms underlying risk for tobacco dependence and relapse, and translating this information to develop more efficacious interventions. Our approach combines laboratory behavioral pharmacology, ecological momentary assessment, and functional neuroimaging to examine interactions between pharmacological effects of nicotine, key neural pathways, and real-world behavior. Much of our work examines vulnerability to addiction in the context of underlying risk factors, including psychiatric comorbidity, chronic pain, and exposure to childhood adversity. The ideal candidate would have a strong interest in pursuing an academic research career, with background in psychology, behavioral pharmacology, and/or neuroscience. Duke offers a highly collaborative environment with numerous opportunities for professional development. Co-mentorship with other faculty working with large-scale neuroimaging datasets (e.g., ABCD) may be available. In addition, opportunities for accruing hours and supervision toward clinical licensure may be available. Interested applicants should send a brief letter of interest and CV to Maggie Sweitzer (maggie.sweitzer@duke.edu).
Best,
Brent

[#DIV28SUPER] 2022 All of US Research Convention, March 31-Apri 1, 2022
Dear colleagues,
The 2022 All of Us Researchers Convention is coming up! The two-day virtual event will focus on researchers at various educational and professional career stages across two separate but linked events: the Minority Student Research Symposium (March 31) and the All of Us Science Day (April 1).
The All of Us Minority Student Research Symposium (MSRS) elevates the work of student researchers from underrepresented communities. This event engages minority students and mentors by encouraging the use of the All of Us Data Browser to research, design, and display a poster presentation on their findings. Multiple touchpoints, including a professional development series, will help cultivate a mentor/student network.
The All of Us Science Day seeks to bring the All of Us data to life. The All of Us Research Program invites registered users within the All of Us Researcher Workbench who have an active workspace on the platform, to submit a proposal on their work for the opportunity to present at the program’s inaugural Science Day on April 1, 2022. The vision of the Science Day is to bring the Research Projects Directory to life by highlighting how your research is contributing to the goals and diversity and inclusion values of the All of Us Research Program.
