[#DIV28SUPER] 2021 APA Convention, Division 28 - Call for Proposals

Hello All,

Thanks to everyone who participated in the 2020 APA Convention and a special thanks to Justin Strickland for putting together an excellent program and seamlessly adapting it for a virtual convention.

I am reaching out to update everyone about the upcoming 2021 APA Convention which is scheduled for August 12th-15th:

After careful deliberation by the APA Board of Convention Affairs and APA leadership, the 2021 APA Convention has determined that all Divisional and collaborative programming will be 100% Virtual.

Like every year, our goal is to put together a strong program that highlights the many contributions of Division 28 members, especially those of you who conduct preclinical research, are early career investigators, or may have never attended convention.

Importantly, submission deadlines are significantly different this year compared to previous years.

The first deadline for submissions is Friday December 7th, 2020 for collaborative symposia.

For those of you unfamiliar with collaborative symposium process, these sessions encourage the many divisions of APA to work together on highly collaborative and interactive sessions for a wide target audience. Recent examples of successful collaborative symposium from Division 28 include topics ranging from Psychedelic-assisted therapy to Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).

Regular symposium or poster abstract submissions will now be due January 12th, 2021. More information on that as well as additional opportunities for graduate students and early career investigators will be forthcoming.

More information about the submission process and requirements can be found here: https://convention.apa.org/proposals

Please reach out with any questions you may have!

Thanks,
