JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Neurobiology Investigation of Learning and Addiction Laboratory (NILA) is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to join Dr. Thomas Gould and his research team at The Pennsylvania State University. The NILA lab is located within the Penn State Department of Biobehavioral Health and conducts NIH-funded behavioral neuroscience research investigating the effects of nicotine on behavioral learning and its underlying neurobiological and genetic substrates. A current focus of the lab is the impact of developmental nicotine exposure-associated changes to the epigenome on brain and behavior. Our laboratory utilizes cutting-edge technologies and employs innovative integrative techniques in the study of learning, memory, and addiction. Postdoctoral Fellows are encouraged to develop independent research goals and will have continuous opportunity to publish and present their work.

Candidate responsibilities will depend on candidate skills and interests as well as laboratory needs. Postdoctoral Fellow responsibilities generally include data collection and analysis, grant and manuscript preparation, and conference attendance and presentation. Qualified applicants will have earned a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Biology, Psychology, or a related field. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong background in mouse genetics, rodent behavior models, and neurobiological techniques and a proven track record of publications.

Candidate should submit a current CV and a list of three references.
