Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Behavioral Neuroscience

 

Position:  The Department of Psychology at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track position as an Assistant Professor beginning fall semester, August 16, 2018.

 

Responsibilities: Candidates will contribute to the education and training of undergraduate and graduate students, including teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise. Candidates are expected to maintain a strong research program, with potential for extramural funding.

 

Requirements/Qualifications: Candidates should have an independent research program in behavioral neuroscience, broadly defined, with preference for programs that complement existing strengths in the Department of Psychology which include comparative cognition, learning and conditioning, cognitive and affective neuroscience, autism and developmental disabilities, environmental health, and psychopharmacology. A strong record of publications, and a high potential for external funding is required. Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in Psychology or related field. ABD candidates will be considered but must have Ph.D. by start date or offer will be withdrawn. Auburn University has state-of-the-art resources for animal and human model neuroscience research.

 

The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills required.
