 University of Kentucky Tenure-Track Faculty Position

 

The Center on Drug and Alcohol Research, located within the College of Medicine at the University of Kentucky, is seeking applicants for a newly established full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank; salary will be commensurate with rank.  The successful candidate must have completed an advanced degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) and established a program of extramurally funded research in substance abuse. We are seeking individuals who may fill a gap and complement the existing multidisciplinary group within the Center and across the University.  Clinician scientists are strongly encouraged to apply.  Recognized research gap areas include nicotine and alcohol treatment, clinical neuroscience, prevention, health economy, implementation science, ethnography, maternal/child and adolescence research.  However, all individuals with an established funded program in substance abuse and a track record of working with multiple disciplines will be considered.  The Center on Drug and Alcohol Research is a multidisciplinary Center within the College of Medicine at the University of Kentucky with a strong tradition of collaboration among clinical departments and other programs on campus.  The primary faculty appointment will be made in an appropriate clinical or basic science department within the College based upon the candidate's background.  The University is located in Central Kentucky's beautiful Bluegrass region, an area known for its quality of life.  Lexington is a growing community of approximately 330,000 with excellent schools, diverse business and industry, excellent recreational opportunities, and a variety of cultural events.  Information about the Center on Drug and Alcohol Research is available at <http://www.cdar.uky.edu/>.  Additional information can be obtained by e-mail from Sharon Walsh at sharon.walsh@uky.edu.  Interested applicants should submit a current curriculum vitae, a letter of application outlining their research and interest in the position, and three letters of recommendation to: Chair Search Committee (Sharon Walsh), Center on Drug and Alcohol Research, University of Kentucky College of Medicine, 515 Oldham Court, Lexington, KY  40502.  Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.  All applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and undergo a pre-employment national background check as mandated by University of Kentucky Human Resources.  The University of Kentucky is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
