It is with an extraordinarily heavy and sad heart that I report to you the death of Charles Roberts (Bob) Schuster on Monday afternoon Feb 21, in Houston, Texas, from a stroke.
We have lost an amazing scientific pioneer, thought leader and distinguished professor, whose impact will resound for many, many years to come. He was a champion for our profession and helping people afflicted with problems from substance abuse, a soulful and vital man, an incredibly gracious mentor, and a true friend. He positively touched so many lives that words cannot adequately express our loss.
