Assistant Professor: Behavioral Neuroscience

The Psychology Department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln seeks candidates for a tenure track Assistant Professor in Behavioral Neuroscience to begin August 2019. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, or related field and a record of achievement in scholarship and teaching. This hire is part of a larger effort to further build strengths in substance use and addiction. In addition to connecting translationally to existing strengths in substance use, experience with rodent or other non-primate animal behavior testing and modern neuroscience techniques are required. Preference will be given to candidates who have expertise in optogenetics, chemogenetics, transgenic animals, in vivo electrophysiology, and/or cellular imaging techniques. Responsibilities include maintaining an active program of research, such as pursuit of external funding and publishing scholarly research, teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and a willingness to collaborate within and beyond the Department, College, and University.
