The Spectrum Health Healthcare System in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is looking for a psychologist to join our team as the Clinical Director for the Spectrum Health Addiction Rehabilitation Program (SHARP). This is a fantastic opportunity for both program development and clinical practice, in one of the most pleasant working environments I have ever experienced. In addition to clinical and administrative duties, clinical supervision opportunities will be available with SHARP clinical staff and with Spectrum Health's new psychology predoctoral internship program. Some opportunities will also exist for research and scholarly presentations. Competitive applicants will be ABPP board-certified or board-eligible, and follow evidence-based practice guidelines. Postdoctoral training in evidence-based addictions treatment, or certification via APAPO's Certificate of Proficiency in the Treatment of Alcohol and Other Psychoactive Substance Use Disorders, is also preferred.
The position is administratively housed within the Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Division of Spectrum's Primary Health Department(http://www.shmg.org/psychiatry-behavioral-medicine). Salaries for Spectrum psychologists are the best in the region, and will be based partly on experience, credentials, and value. Benefits include strong medical/dental/vision health insurance, $4000 annual CE funds, Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Grand Rounds, Behavioral Medicine Case Rounds, significant administrative and peer support, and a collaborative professional culture that is focused on the highest quality care for our patients and staff. Grand Rapids, Michigan
Grand Rapids was named as the top U.S. travel destination in 2014 by Lonely Planet, the world's largest travel guide publisher. We have the most vibrant downtown between Chicago and Cleveland, a world-renowned art scene, world-class breweries, semi-pro sports teams, fascinating museums, and easy access to Lake Michigan's gold coast (with 300 miles of spectacular beaches, soaring sand dunes, and spectacular sunsets). Metropolitan Grand Rapids has a population of just over one million people, with mild traffic and safe communities. It is a great place to live, work, raise a family, and have fun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIakr9wkiKI.
