We need your help to encourage Congress to finish work on the fiscal year (FY) 2015 budget for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Science Foundation (NSF), and other federal science agencies. As you may know, earlier this year the Appropriations Committees proposed funding increases for NIH and NSF, and agriculture and veterans research. These increases will not become a reality unless Congress approves an omnibus appropriations bill in the next few weeks. Please click HERE to send an email to your Senators and Representative today. [DIV28M] Reminder: 2015 APA Convention Call For Submissions

Dear Division 28 Members-

 

                The December 1^st submission deadline for the 2015 APA Convention in Toronto (August 6-9) is approaching.  If you have an idea for a proposal, but would like help, please do not hesitate to contact me, the 2015 program chair (mweaver@mercyhurst.edu).

                The division leadership would like to encourage symposia that involve both senior and junior scientists because one of the presidential initiatives for 2015 is to increase intergenerational collaboration and communication within Division 28.  Additionally, we have several strong Fellows Addresses and interesting symposia planned.  The highly successful NIDA/NIAAA Early Career Investigators Poster Session and Social Hour will again occur this year!  There will be travel funding opportunities for early career (e.g., students, postdocs, new to the field) and diversity candidates.  There will also be special consideration for local participants.  The session is open to all, and we encourage strong early career, diversity, and local applicants.
