Job Summary:Duties include laboratory management and maintenance of a preclinical neuroscience research laboratory, and performing research as directed. The incumbent will be expected to assist and be an active contributor to studies in the lab and contribute to the daily operation of the laboratory. This position requires rat handling. The successful candidate will be expected to keep good records of experiments, results, etc. The term of employment is for 2 years with a possible extension with satisfactory performance.

Minimum qualifications: Applicants must have an Associate's degree in neuroscience, biology, biological psychology, pharmacology or related field plus one year of research lab experience or equivalency. Experience must demonstrate excellent organizational and communication (oral and written) skills. Ability to learn new hands-on procedures and a variety of technology platforms. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Must be able to work occasional weekends, scheduled in advance.
Desired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biology, biological psychology, or pharmacology or related field. Experience conducting behavioral studies. Technical experience with small animal surgeries, immunohistochemistry, and/or microscopy. Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software program skills. Experience with programming languages (Med-State, MATLAB, or Python) is a plus.
