[#DIV28SUPER] Postdoctoral Associate at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute

 

Position Summary:

Mikhail Koffarnus, Ph.D. at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute is seeking a full-time postdoctoral associate to primarily work on a new NIAAA-funded study using remote alcohol monitoring to facilitate abstinence reinforcement with an underserved population. With this line of work, and in close collaboration with the Carilion Clinic Psychiatry department, we are developing a mobile treatment platform for alcohol use that uses mobile technology to facilitate treatment delivery. Responsibilities related to this project include ensuring that the protocol is executed correctly on a daily basis. Along with the PI, the candidate will be responsible for IRB-related issues, data analyses, manuscript publications, and conference presentations. S/he will also work with the research assistants in a supervisory role on the collection of data, issuing payments, and conducting intake and assessment sessions.

The postdoctoral associate will also be an integral member on a collaborative team broadly focused on research involving the intersection of behavioral economics and addiction processes. The postdoctoral associate will also be given the opportunity and support to develop supplementary studies and will be encouraged to publish and present their research findings.

 

Qualifications:

- PhD or MD/PhD in Psychology, Applied Behavioral Science, or a related specialty.
- Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively work with and communicate with a wide range of constituents.
- Proficient in data processing and analysis.

- Experience with behavioral economics and/or abstinence reinforcement interventions is a plus.
