Subject: Act Now! 2012 Funding for NIH and Other Federal Science Agencies

Dear Colleague,

The Senate Appropriations Committees will soon begin consideration of FY 2012 funding bills. In addition, this month the newly-formed Joint Committee on Deficit Reduction (JCDR) will begin formulating deficit reduction strategies. It is important to position federal science agencies along a path of sustainable, predictable growth and to continue to guard NIH, NSF, DOE, and USDA research programs against devastating budget cuts. Congress needs to hear that message from you NOW.

Please go to http://capwiz.com/faseb/issues/alert/?alertid=53392546 and email your Members of Congress today and urge them to support $35 billion for NIH in the FY 2012 Labor/HHS/Education Appropriations bill and to protect the NIH, NSF, DOE, and USDA research budgets during the upcoming development of deficit reduction policies by the JCDR. Together, we can make a difference for science!

Sincerely,
